The symposium featured speakers and successful programs for promoting and building healthier lifestyles through connecting Californians to the outdoors. This symposium was a rare opportunity for the health professionals and the outdoor community to work together. Participants learned and discussed successful programs, partnerships, tools, and funding sources for implementing programs in their area.

Past Symposia:

The Roundtable sponsors and conducts symposia that address issues of significant importance to recreation, parks and tourism.

The Roundtable's most recent symposium focused on methods of introducing the outdoors to new audiences, such as youth and new immigrants. Connecting Californians to the Outdoors was held May 25 - 26 in Los Angeles. 100 attended.

The Roundtable was a principal sponsor of the first California Cultural and Heritage Tourism Symposium, produced by the California Cultural and Heritage Tourism Council and held May 13 in Riverside. 100 attended.

Additionally, the Roundtable was a principal sponsor of the Symposium on Emerging Recreation and Tourism Opportunities in a Changing World held in 2005.
